Wow. Another whole year under my belt and things are going well.
I have mastered the art of carding most types of wool on the Pat Green carder. I have found that most alpaca is too fine, and this carder doesn't process supper-fine fibers as well. So I take only limited orders of alpaca for processing.
I have formed a business association with Evergreen Fiber Processors in Woodinville WA. Chuck and Lynn are alpaca farmers and have a washing, carding and felting plant. I have access to their industrial size needle felter and this is great for creating larger sized pieces of felt.
I will be adding wool and/or alpaca filled quilts and blankets in 2013. Watch for these incredible beauties!
I continue to process wool for Ecobalanza. I happily report Aimee's furniture business is doing well. In 2012, I have processed almost a thousand pounds of wool for wrapping cushions and felted sheets. I whole heartedly support her efforts to use local wool, and local processing in her beautiful hand made furniture.
I wish everyone a wonderous holiday season and prosperous 2013!
